Ashes in the Light

Words left behind in half-light

About

Hi, I’m Rosanne.

Ashes in the Light began as a place to write things down before they faded.

What started as occasional reflections slowly became a collection of memories I wanted to keep properly — moments from travel, work, weddings, family, grief, and the quieter parts of everyday life.

I’ve always been someone who remembers small things.

A conversation over coffee.
A walk back to the hotel after dinner.
The feeling of arriving somewhere new.
The way a particular afternoon felt.

Most of these moments are ordinary when they happen.

But over time, I’ve realised that ordinary moments are often the ones we miss most.

This space became my way of holding on to them a little longer.

The name Ashes in the Light came from the idea that not every memory arrives brightly.

Some are joyful.
Some are bittersweet.
Some are tied to people, places, and seasons that have already passed.

Yet even after they become part of the past, they continue to leave traces behind — quietly shaping who we become.

This blog is where I keep those traces.

Written slowly somewhere between growing up and slowing down.

Thank you for reading.
