Last Saturday, I had the chance to do an actual day wedding coordination, and it reminded me why I’ve always loved weddings.
Unlike many weddings, this couple didn’t have the traditional morning gate crash. Their day started in the afternoon around 1pm, when the bride began getting ready. It gave the whole day a slightly slower start, but once things picked up, it was all hands on deck.

1:00pm – Bride Prep
The bride started getting her hair and makeup done, and we were on hand to check in with her and the bridal party. It was a quieter start, but still important to make sure everyone was on schedule.
3:00pm – Final Venue Checks
While the bride was getting ready, we headed to the venue for setup checks. This part always excites me, especially because I also get to see the floral details come alive—the aisle pews, the round arch backdrop, and the dinner florals all being placed carefully into position. Making sure each arrangement looks just right under the lighting is a big part of the behind-the-scenes magic.
5:30pm – Guests Arrive
This is when things got busier. Guests started arriving, and we guided them to the reception area while keeping track of timing for the ceremony. Behind the scenes, we were still checking little details—cue music, prep the march-in, fluff the gown, and keep the couple calm.
6:00pm – Solemnisation
The solemnisation was short but beautiful. The backdrop we had worked on earlier framed the couple perfectly, and it was such a joy to see the flowers become part of their photos and memories.
6:30pm – Cocktail Hour
While guests mingled and enjoyed canapés, we moved around quietly—making sure the dinner setup was ready, candles lit, florals refreshed, and the AV team on standby. These are the details most guests don’t see, but they’re what make the celebration feel seamless.
7:30pm – Dinner Reception
The highlight of the evening. The couple did their march-in, speeches were made, and dinner was served. We managed the flow of the programme, coordinated with the hotel team, and kept an eye on the timeline. I couldn’t help but glance at the tablescapes now and then—the florals we had worked on earlier looked even more beautiful under the warm glow of the ballroom lights.
10:00pm – After-Party
When the formal programme wrapped up, the celebration didn’t end there. The couple hosted an after-party downstairs, where the vibe shifted from elegant dinner to relaxed fun. Guests had drinks, laughed, and kept the night alive—it was a lovely way to end such a special day.

There’s always chaos behind the scenes, but that’s part of the magic. Wedding coordination isn’t just about sticking to a schedule—it’s about making sure the couple can enjoy their day without stress, and that everything looks seamless to their guests.
And for me, seeing the florals I worked on become part of that magic makes it even more meaningful. From aisle pews to arches to dinner tables, they’re not just decorations—they’re part of someone’s love story.
At the end of the night, I left feeling proud and so full. It’s such a privilege to be part of someone’s big day, and this experience reminded me exactly why I love weddings—the details, the teamwork, and the joy of seeing it all come together.
Here’s to more weddings, more flowers, and more heart-full days like this.
