A Day at The Peak & Hidden Gems Around Hong Kong

In my previous post about our arrival in Hong Kong, I shared how our first night was slow, calm, and full of simple joys. Day 2 was a little more eventful — still relaxed, but with a nice mix of sightseeing, food, and catching up with friends.

We started our morning early with breakfast at a Cha Chaan Teng nearby — the kind of typical Hong Kong eatery that always feels comforting and familiar. After that, we made our way to The Peak and took the Peak Tram up. Thankfully, we already had our Octopus Card, which made everything quick and convenient.

At the top, we spent some time wandering around the mall, enjoying the cool weather and taking in the views before heading back down for dim sum lunch. The place was small, but the food was surprisingly good — especially the egg tart, which was warm, flaky, and really yummy.

Later in the afternoon, we met one of my husband’s friends who lives in Hong Kong. We had coffee, caught up a little, and my husband brought us to a hidden bar for a drink. It felt like a mini adventure — one of those unexpected detours that end up becoming nice memories.

We were lucky that his friend also gave us a ride back to our hotel afterwards. For dinner, we kept it simple with a bowl of hot noodle soup, which was perfect for the chilly weather that night.

It was a cozy, easy second day — the kind that fills your heart slowly without you even realising it.

P.S. The next day, we explored Mongkok and had one of the best claypot rice meals of the trip. Stay tuned! 🍲✨
