I haven’t been updating for some time because I recently started a part-time job with Amperian, and it’s been such a refreshing change of pace. My role is mainly helping with floral arrangements, and every week feels like a new chance to learn.

Some of the pieces I’ve worked on include aisle pew arrangements, a small set of flowers for a model wedding cake, and even the backdrop for a round arch. On the surface it looks like just putting flowers together, but there’s actually so much that goes on behind the scenes. From conditioning the flowers (trimming, hydrating, and making sure they’re ready to last the day) to deciding which blooms and foliage should be paired, every step takes thought and care.
There’s also the logistics side of it—packing everything carefully for transport, setting up on-site, making adjustments so arrangements look perfect under the actual lighting, and sometimes working against the clock because weddings have such tight timelines. It can be tiring, but it’s also energising in its own way.
What I enjoy most is the creative process. When I’m piecing together aisle pews or shaping the flow of an arch, there’s a rhythm to it—layering, balancing, stepping back, then fine-tuning again. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get it just right, but when I finally do, there’s a quiet pride in seeing it all come together.

And the best part? Knowing that these flowers aren’t just pretty decorations—they’re part of someone’s big day, the backdrop for their memories and photos. Being able to contribute to that, even in a small way, feels really meaningful.
I never really pictured myself doing this kind of work, but now that I’m here, it feels like a sweet little chapter in my journey. And honestly, it’s made me appreciate flowers—and the people who bring them to life for weddings—so much more.
In a way, this job reminds me why I’ve always been drawn to weddings and events. It’s never just about the flowers, the décor, or the logistics—it’s about creating moments that stay with people long after the day is over. And I’m grateful I get to be part of that magic, even if it’s just one bouquet or one arch at a time.
