After our satisfying lunch at MODU, we weren’t quite ready to call it a day just yet. You can read my post about MODU here. Our ex-boss mentioned that they had a sister dessert spot nearby—owned by the same owner, just around the corner on the same floor of Mandarin Gallery. It’s called tofu.g, a minimalist little ice cream café tucked just a few steps away.
The space was simple and clean, with that soft Korean café vibe—understated but welcoming. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t try too hard, but still draws you in.

According to our ex-boss, they only had one flavour available when they first opened recently, and now they’ve expanded to six. The best part? You can even try a few flavours before placing your order.
We each picked a scoop to try. I went for the sweet corn flavour, while my ex-colleague and ex-boss had black sesame. The sweet corn was creamy and smooth, with just the right hint of natural sweetness—nostalgic in a way, like those childhood corn snacks or corn ice creams, but elevated. I tried a spoonful of the black sesame too, and it was rich, nutty, and just the right amount of earthy without being too heavy.

They also had a few other unique flavours I’d love to try next time, and the overall vibe felt perfect for a mid-day treat or a quiet dessert stop after lunch.
If you ever find yourself at Mandarin Gallery—whether you’re there for a meal at MODU or just passing through—tofu.g is definitely worth checking out. A small scoop of comfort in a cozy corner of town.
