After a quiet and gentle Day 4 at Mui Wo, Day 5 was a little more active — our hiking day on Lantau Island.
We started the morning early with a light breakfast at the hotel before catching a bus to the starting point of our hike. The weather was perfect — cool, breezy, and clear — the kind of weather that makes you feel good about being outdoors.
The hike itself took about 2.5 hours, and the scenery along the way was beautiful. We even met a few Singaporeans who were also hiking that day, which made the trail feel a little more familiar and friendly.
The climb up wasn’t too bad, but the journey down was honestly the tougher part — just endless steps. It was supposed to be around 45 minutes, but we took slightly longer… mostly because we were being careful (and also because I really needed to pee, so that became my motivation to keep moving LOL).
At the bottom, we reached the monastery, where we had a delicious vegetarian lunch. It was simple but comforting — especially after a long hike. Afterwards, we spent a bit of time walking around Ngong Ping Village, exploring the shops and enjoying the atmosphere. We even made a quick dessert stop before taking the cable car down, which offered such a nice view to end the day.
By then, we were already tired, so we kept dinner simple with a quick bowl of ramen, then headed back to the hotel to rest.

A long day, but such a satisfying one — the kind that leaves your legs tired but your heart full.
P.S. Next entry: finally… Hong Kong Disneyland! 🏰✨ I’ll need some time for that one because it was honestly one of my favourite days of the trip.
