In this modern day and age, we’ve gotten so used to people telling us what we should do—
“You should try this.”
“You should be doing that.”
“You should be following the norm.”
And somewhere along the way, we forget that it’s okay to start our own trend. To be ourselves. To simply follow our heart.
We owe it to ourselves to pursue the things we genuinely love—to do what brings us joy, not just what checks someone else’s boxes. Life isn’t meant to be lived inside a cookie cutter.
It’s the same with life in general—so many people feel pressured by the things and people around them. Seeing others get married, enter relationships, buy a car, buy a house… All of these things slowly create an invisible standard, a “timeline” that makes us feel like we’re behind if we’re not doing the same.
But that shouldn’t be the case.
We should live our life based on what we enjoy, what we love, and what makes us feel fulfilled. Not what society tells us is the “right” way. Because when we stop measuring ourselves against what everyone else is doing, that’s when we truly begin to enjoy. That’s when we start living—not just existing.
So here’s to letting go of the pressure, following your own rhythm, and choosing the kind of life that makes your heart feel light.
