Yesterday felt like a quiet luxury. My fiancé was working from home, and while he was busy with meetings and calls, I spent the day pottering around the house—doing bits of wedding prep and keeping my little promise to stay consistent with this blog.
Lately, I’ve been watching a Chinese drama called Meet Yourself. It’s set in Yunmiao Village, and there’s something so grounding about the slow pace and simplicity of village life in the show. The characters talk a lot about healing, slowing down, and rediscovering themselves in quiet, forgotten corners of life.
It’s been comforting to watch—especially now, being in between chapters, caught in the in-between. Truthfully, I’ve felt lost for a while. But this show resonates deeply with me. Sometimes I catch myself wondering what it would be like to actually live that kind of life, surrounded by mountains, stillness, and meaning in the everyday.
Lunch was simple, but I made a bit more effort for dinner: grilled fillet, roasted vegetables, and a fresh pile of salad. There’s something almost therapeutic about preparing a meal from scratch—especially when it’s for someone you love, and the day has been slow and kind.
Here’s the end product of making dinner:

Some days don’t need to be loud to feel full. And today, this was more than enough.
